Community engagement reached a sweet note in Boston's Archdale Village as officers from District E-5 (West Roxbury/Roslindale) spent quality time with local residents during the annual Family Day. The event featured a community lunch where neighbors could mingle with law enforcement in a setting far removed from the usual patrol encounters. An added treat, the BPD Ice Cream Truck, served up free ice cream to attendees of all ages, generously provided by the Boston Police Foundation’s COP fund and HP Hood, according to a Boston Police Department announcement.
Free ice cream was not the only highlight of the day, as officers and locals broke bread and barriers, building a stronger sense of community.
