The Boston Police Department's District E-5 officers stepped outside their usual beats to join in on community festivities at the Holy Name Parish Barbecue. The afternoon event, as reported by BPD News, brought families and local law enforcement together in West Roxbury for a day filled with food, games, and entertainment.
With the sun high and smiles abound, kids tussled in a good-natured tug-of-war, while others were enchanted by a magician's sleight of hand. A bounce house also provided a cushioned arena for youthful energy to be spent. Adults mingled, flipping burgers and sharing stories, reinforcing the fabric of the local community. At the heart of the festivities, BPD's Ice Cream Truck was a hit, handing out cold treats courtesy of the Boston Police Foundation's COP Fund and HP Hood, as noted by the same BPD release.
