In a coordinated law enforcement effort, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office brought a 59-year-old Buford man into custody facing serious charges. Marvin Stanley Cottrell has been charged with Trafficking Cocaine and Firearm Possession by a Felon. The arrest was the result of a search warrant executed at a residence in Buford, in the county of Gwinnett, GA.
The raid occurred last Friday and was a show of power from the GBI, alongside the local sheriff's office. During the operation, agents discovered approximately five ounces of suspected cocaine and a firearm. The public has been urged to contribute any knowledge regarding drug activities to GBI's ARDEO. An anonymous tip could be submitted by dialling 1-800-597-TIPS(8477), online, or through the See Something, Send Something mobile app, according to a GBI release.
This arrest showcases the ongoing efforts to combat drug trade in the region. The ARDEO, a multi-agency collaboration, includes authorities from 30 counties in North Georgia. This unit boasts an assemblage from various Sheriff’s Offices and Police Agencies across the state, further aided by the Georgia National Guard Counter Drug Task Force, the Georgia State Patrol, Georgia Department of Community Supervision, and the GBI itself.
