Residents and commuters in St. Charles County will need to plan for detours starting October 6, as Callaway Fork Road is set to shut down for maintenance. According to a county announcement, the closure will take place approximately one mile from Highway F, to address issues concerning a low water crossing. Work is dependent on cooperative weather and could span across an entire week.
The St. Charles County Highway Department has outlined that local traffic will be able to reach homes and businesses up to the actual location of the closure on either side. However, uninterrupted through traffic will not be permissible. Motorists are advised to look out for signs providing directions for the necessary detours to maneuver around the construction zone.
