A high-speed chase across Southern California culminated in the arrest of a Canyon Country man late Sunday evening. The pursuit, which began in Ventura County, ended with the capture of Timothy Arthur Jones following a series of failed attempts to stop the vehicle he was allegedly driving, a 1990s-era Toyota with blacked-out windows.

According to a statement from the Simi Valley Police Department, Jones failed to pull over when prompted by an officer for reckless driving at approximately 10:50 p.m. and instead fled. During the chase, efforts by officers to deploy spike strips proved unsuccessful. With the assistance of air support from the Los Angeles Police Department, the pursuit extended from Simi Valley streets onto the 118 Freeway, reaching the San Fernando Valley.

The chase came to a stop when the pursued vehicle exited at Topanga Canyon Boulevard. There, officers performed a pursuit intervention technique (PIT maneuver) that immobilized the car and allowed them to apprehend Jones without further incident. KTLA reported.

Jones now faces multiple charges, including auto theft, felony evading, and several outstanding felony warrants. Following his arrest, he was booked at the Ventura County Jail, officials cited.
