The City of Chandler's Golden Neighbors program is set to continue this October with an educational offering designed for the senior population. A Medicare 101 presentation, courtesy of Oak Street Health, will offer seniors and their loved ones the opportunity to unravel the complexities of Medicare and Medicare Advantage, as they strive for greater understanding and more informed health care choices.

The event, touted as both free and essential, is scheduled to take place from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center, located at 249 E. Chicago St., in the heart of downtown Chandler. Recognizing the diverse linguistic fabric of the community, provisions have been made for a live Spanish interpreter to be present, ensuring no language barrier stands between the information and its potential beneficiaries.

As interest is anticipated to be high, Chandler residents are encouraged to confirm their attendance either through Golden Neighbors' online RSVP system or by reaching out directly to Neighborhood Programs staff at 480-782-4362.

With eyes already set towards the future, Golden Neighbors has announced further events for the 2025 calendar, a notable inclusion being a Nov. 13 presentation by Hospice of the Valley that will focus on optimizing doctor-patient interactions, and, a festive Holiday Celebration/Breakfast slated for Dec. 11.
