
A Cheneyville man, who also serves as its Chief of Police, was taken into custody on charges related to the sexual abuse of a juvenile. The Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP SVU) spearheaded an investigation following a report of illicit conduct within the Cheneyville community, which culminated in the arrest of Charles A. Issac, 37.
Issac faces serious charges, including molestation of a juvenile, sexual battery of a victim under the age of 13, and aggravated crimes against nature. According to a news release from LSP SVU, he was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center yesterday. The investigation further clarifies that Issac was not carrying out his official duties as police chief at the time the alleged acts were committed.
Charles A. Issac has been arrested, according to authorities. The Mayor of Cheneyville’s office confirmed it is addressing inquiries regarding Issac’s employment status. Officials noted that the case is ongoing, and no further details about the charges have been released at this time.
