Chicago has witnessed yet another grim chapter of violence with the recent arrest of 57-year-old Andre Lewis, who now faces serious charges including first-degree murder and concealment of a homicidal death. According to the Chicago Police Department's press release, Lewis was apprehended on September 21 at around 2:23 p.m. near the 6900 block of S. Damen Avenue.
Details surrounding the case remain scarce, but what's known is chilling—the male victim, whose identity remains undisclosed by authorities, was found dead days earlier, on September 18, at about 10:15 a.m., mere blocks away on S. Paulina Street. Lewis was subsequently identified and taken into police custody, where he was charged, marking a swift response from local law enforcement to a disturbing finding of a life extinguished prematurely and concealed in an attempt to skirt the bounds of justice.
The suspect's detention hearing is scheduled for the same day of this report at 2600 S. California.
