The Chicago Police Department has issued a community alert for the 17th District following an instance of aggravated battery that took place in broad daylight. The incident, which occurred on a busy public way, involved an unidentified woman attacking a victim with a stick-like object after both individuals alighted from a CTA bus.
According to the report provided by the Chicago Police Department, the altercation happened around 5:45 PM on Friday, August 15, 2025. The attacker, after committing the crime, was seen fleeing the scene on her bicycle, heading west on the 3600 block of West Addison Street. The victim was left in the aftermath of the strike, the circumstances of which have yet to be fully disclosed.
Witnesses and those with knowledge of the incident have been urged to come forward. The offender is described as an African American female, estimated to be between 20 to 35 years of age. She was last seen wearing a black Nike baseball hat, dark apparel, glasses, and sporting long dreadlocks. Prior to the incident, the woman was noted to have boarded a southbound CTA Red Line rail car at Morse Avenue.
