A serious collision in Portland's Mill Park neighborhood last night has left a child in critical condition. The Portland Police Bureau reported that officers arrived at the intersection of Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast Lincoln Street at around 7:38 p.m. to find a 9-year-old boy seriously injured following an incident involving an electric scooter and a vehicle, as stated by the Portland Police.
The boy was swiftly transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, the driver involved stayed at the scene and has been cooperative with the ongoing investigation which is being carried out by the Portland Police Traffic Division's Major Crash Team and during their investigation, a section of Southeast 122nd Avenue is closed between Southeast Sherman and Southeast Mill Streets, traffic is expected to be affected, therefore drivers are urged to seek alternate routes and allow extra travel time.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the crash to come forward, specifically reaching out via an e-mail to [email protected], with attention to the Traffic Investigations Unit and referencing case number 25-263972. The Portland Police Bureau has not immediately released additional details; however, they will provide further updates as the investigation progresses and is appropriate to do so.
