
A fatal collision occurred on Interstate 93 in Concord, New Hampshire, when a man riding an electric bicycle was struck by an SUV late yesterday evening. NBC Boston reports that State police confirmed that the incident took place just before 9 p.m. near Exit 14 on the southbound side, resulting in the death of the e-bike rider, identified as Keerati Nakklee of Concord.
Following the crash, the exit ramp where the tragic incident occurred was closed to facilitate an investigation, though it has since been reopened, the extent of Keerati Nakklee's injuries were severe, leading to his eventual pronouncement of death at Concord Hospital, according to the state police and WMUR.
Investigators believe Nakklee was trying to cross the highway at the top of the off-ramp when the SUV merged into the ramp, prompting the fatal collision, as mentioned by New Hampshire State Police. Notably, they emphasized that e-bikes are illegal on New Hampshire highways and are not subject to the same regulatory requirements as other vehicles, such as registration, licensing, or insurance.
