The game just changed for high school athletes at Cordova High, and it's all thanks to a sports tech import from Down Under. In a move to amp up their training, CHS athletes have grabbed hold of the Lumin Sports app, a platform that's all business when it comes to enhancing athletic performance. This isn't just about pumping iron harder—it's about tracking every facet that goes into shaping a stellar student athlete. "Lumin Sports helps our athletes track their progress in the weight room while also showing how their daily habits—like sleep, recovery, and overall well-being—directly affect performance," Strength and Conditioning Coach Chris Tamez spilled to the City of Rancho Cordova.
Backed by the local Student Athlete Coalition and city funding, CHS students now have an upgraded app that tracks their fitness and health habits. “We’ve seen that athletes who consistently engage with the app and maintain healthy habits not only perform better on the field, but also show greater consistency in the classroom,” Tamez told the City of Rancho Cordova.
It’s not every day a CEO visits a high school weight room, but when Benjamin Tripodi, head of Lumin Sports, toured CHS’s upgraded facility, it was clear the program had scored big. Coaches can now track mood, workload, and wellness data for each athlete, giving them a full picture to better guide their teams. They’re praising the app for its smooth mix of performance tracking and academic support, helping build stronger game-day players.
Looking beyond the high school field, Lumin Sports is making a big impact. Professional basketball, rugby, and soccer teams have already adopted the Aussie system. That means the CHS Lancers are in good company. Here’s to a season of progress, consistency, and success both on the field and in the classroom. Go Lancers, as the City of Rancho Cordova would say!
