The hunt for answers in a tragic case of violence from 2023 has culminated in the arrest of 19-year-old Brandon Long for the murder of 23-year-old Jonathan Seda. Nearly three years after the incident, which a vacant home on Crowe Drive became the scene of a fatal shooting, justice seems to be inching forward. On the day prior, Long, originally from Decatur, Alabama, surrendered himself to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, where he admitted his role in the fatal encounter, as the MNPD release confirmed.
It was within the desolate walls of that vacant house where Long allegedly orchestrated a meeting under the pretense of a drug deal. The investigation lifted the veil on a plot that left Seda dead and his younger brother, then 18, injured, yet ultimately a survivor. The case remained unresolved until recent investigative breakthroughs, leading to Long’s arrest. Although he was only 16 when the crime occurred, he now faces adult consequences for his actions.
Long, who reportedly was visiting Nashville back then, has been charged with criminal homicide in Juvenile Court, owing to the age he was at the time of the crime. During an interview, Long admitted to the shootings, giving authorities a key confession that moves the legal process toward a detention hearing, which is still ongoing.
