In a heartfelt initiative from Del Valle High School's CTE Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), a charitable endeavor dubbed Operation WaterSpring has emerged to support those without a home in local shelters, ensuring they have access to bottled water and hygiene kits. Spearheaded by FBLA State Vice President Leo Gomez and his fellow students, this effort is guided by advisor Ms. Rebecca Mendoza's steady hand, aiming to imbue a sense of relief and dignity into the lives of families in need, as reported by Ysleta ISD.

According to Ysleta ISD, Leo Gomez leading the charge in this altruistic quest, shared his vision for this project, "Through this project, we hope to bring relief and dignity to families in need while inspiring other young leaders to take action in their communities," and in true testament to their leadership, the FBLA chapter isn't stopping at just providing necessities, they're also rallying to raise funds the goal of which is to secure and donate an air conditioning unit for the shelter improving living conditions for those who find respite within its walls.

This combination of meeting immediate needs and improving infrastructure represents an acute understanding by these students of the multifaceted challenges faced by individuals and families who seek shelter. The collected items, like water and hygiene kits, are simple yet powerful tools, crucial for maintaining health and personal dignity amongst society’s most vulnerable.
