
An incident unfolded last night in Detroit's west side where a man perished in a house fire and a firefighter was injured. The Detroit Fire Department received the alarm at around 11:30 p.m. and upon arriving at the 10200 block of McQuade, found the residence engulfed in flames, as CBS News Detroit detailed.
Firefighters rescued one man from the burning home and rushed him to Henry Ford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities are still investigating the sequence of events that led to his death, with the Fire Investigation Division examining the cause and circumstances of the fire, FOX 2 Detroit reported.
The injured firefighter was transported for medical treatment, with WXYZ reporting the injury as a lower back strain resulting from the fall. The identity of the man who died has not been released, as authorities continue to notify next of kin and investigate the events leading up to the incident.
