Residents grappled with the aftermath as a three-alarm fire swept through a San Jose apartment complex. According to a social media post from the San Jose Fire Department, the blaze erupted in the two-story garden-style complex on the 800 block of Deland Avenue, resulting in significant damage and displacing numerous occupants.

The fire, reportedly under control by 4:20 PM yesterday, affected multiple units, causing extensive fire, smoke, and water damage. The SJFD's updates revealed one occupant was removed from the flaming embrace of their home, assessed for injuries on the scene, and subsequently released without the need for further medical transport. At the same time, the traffic in the surrounding area was notably disrupted as the flow was impeded by response teams and equipment that converged upon the crisis. Utilities were shut down for the entire complex as a safety measure, complicating the residents' return to normalcy.
In the wake of the inferno, it was confirmed that all 10 apartments within the complex suffered the consequences. As stated by the San Jose Fire Department, of the six occupied units, twelve adults, one child, four cats, and one bird were forcibly uprooted from their dwellings. The Red Cross was deployed to assist in the displacement catastrophe, providing aid and support to those affected.
