
A collision between an SUV and a Walmart tractor-trailer in Hollywood has resulted in one person being hospitalized, according to authorities. The accident took place on the 2600 block of Sheridan Street at around 5:35 p.m. yesterday evening.
First responders from Hollywood Police and Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the scene, where they found the black Honda CR-V involved in the wreck required the driver to be extricated. The individual was then transported to Memorial Regional Hospital, with the extent of their injuries yet to be disclosed, a statement obtained by WSVN reported.
Images captured at the crash site showed the CR-V with significant damage, including a shattered windshield and a fully destroyed front end. The semitruck, which appeared to be a Walmart 18-wheeler, was seen off to the side of the road alongside two Hollywood Fire Rescue trucks.
The aftermath of the collision prompted the closure of all lanes of Sheridan Street at the intersection of 28th Avenue, as detailed by Local10. As of yesterday night, police had not yet provided further information, as the investigation into the incident continues, with no additional details released.
