Early last Saturday, a car rolled over and landed in the parking lot of a pawn shop near Cave Creek and Greenway Roads in Phoenix. Surveillance footage showed the car losing control, going over a canal, and landing in the lot before catching fire. Burn marks were visible on the pavement after the crash.
Both people inside the car survived the crash and were taken to a hospital as a precaution. The accident happened around 4 a.m. in a parking lot where no bystanders were present. Phoenix police said the driver was processed for DUI, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.
Angela Wilson, manager of a Phoenix pawn shop, saw a crash near her store through a surveillance alert and said, “It was very gut-wrenching,” as per Yahoo News. She explained that the curve by the shop has been the site of past accidents. Wilson added, “My reaction was there’s no way that person survived,” after viewing the footage, as mentioned by FOX 10 Phoenix.
