The county has announced its latest initiative to celebrate local heroes by accepting nominations for the 2025 Veteran of the Year. The Veteran’s Assistance Office, in collaboration with the Veterans Advisory Board, is spearheading this annual tradition. According to El Paso County, nominations for the accolade are being accepted until September 30. To be considered, nominees must be residents of El Paso County and have served honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces. The chosen Veteran of the Year will not only receive recognition in November but will also be immortalized on the Veterans Wall of Honor at the local courthouse.
Interested parties can submit nominations through the county's official website, or by collecting a form at any Veterans Services Offices located on the Northeast & Eastside.
