In El Paso, a joint operation between the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and Adult Probation officers has resulted in the apprehension of Andy Perez, a 35-year-old wanted parolee and registered sex offender. The arrest was made yesterday, following a compliance check that turned up juvenile pornography, a violation of Perez's probation terms, according to a social media post by El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte.
Once the illicit material was found, a bench warrant was quickly issued for Perez, who originally was charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. In a swift statement to ensure the compliance with the law, the deputies managed to locate and arrest Perez without incident. He has since been booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility, where he is being held without bond on the probation violation.
According to Sheriff Ugarte’s social media post, the community's safety remains a top priority for the Sheriff’s Office. “The men and women of the Sheriff’s Office work tirelessly to keep our community safe,” Ugarte stated. “When individuals violate the terms of their probation, we will ensure they are held accountable.”
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has emphasized their dedication to community safety and enforcement of the law, especially when it comes to sex offenders on probation.
