On the early morning of September 2, a U-Haul rental truck was set ablaze at 150 Oroyan Avenue, resulting in significant damage. The truck, incinerated around 12:30 a.m., prompted an investigation that quickly linked a vehicle to the suspect involved in the arson, as reported by the City of Eugene.
With the help of an Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) system, police quickly located the suspect’s vehicle. On Wednesday, an officer found it parked outside a Dollar General at 651 Hwy. 99N and contacted the driver, as per the City of Eugene.
Police identified the driver as 43-year-old Gregory Anderson Gober. He was arrested at the Dollar General and booked into the Lane County Jail on a charge of second-degree arson, the City of Eugene stated.
