Authorities in Tyngsborough are currently engaged in an extensive search for Henry Stanaford, a 24-year-old man reported missing near Merrill's Quarry. The Tyngsborough Police Department broadcast their concern on social media, detailing the timeline of Stanaford's disappearance and the resources being deployed in the quest to find him.
According to a Facebook post from the department, Stanaford was last expected to turn up at a certain locale earlier on Tuesday, September 2, but failed to make an appearance. His vehicle was found abandoned on Wilson Way, nearby which police also discovered his cellphone and a number of personal belongings. Despite efforts to immediately contact Stanaford, police were unable to establish any communication with him.
The response to Stanaford's unusual absence has seen local law enforcement join hands with multiple agencies. The search has expanded with the aid of a Chelmsford Police K-9 unit, the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, and the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Regional Response Team. The combined effort reflects the gravity with which authorities are treating the situation.
Residents in the vicinity of the search have been advised to expect a heightened presence of police in the ongoing investigation. The Tyngsborough Police Department is urging anyone who might have information regarding Stanaford's whereabouts to come forward. "Police are asking anyone with information on Stanaford's whereabouts to call 978-649-7504 or to email Detective Sgt. Dennis Leach at [email protected]," as mentioned in their social media call to action.
