A heartbreaking incident on Interstate 10 has taken the lives of three family members, including two young boys, in a rollover crash near Buckeye. As reported by FOX 10 Phoenix, Carlos Saldana lost his sons, Emiliano and Carlos, along with their maternal grandfather, Israel Vasquez, in a tragic event approximately 50 miles west of downtown Phoenix.

It was revealed that during the accident, which occurred near Palo Verde Road, none of the vehicle's occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. This resulted in them being ejected from the car. Carlos Saldana, in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix, has since shared a heartfelt message about his sons, whom he described as "really happy boys" who loved holidays and were protective of their family.

Meanwhile, according to AZ Family, the crash occurred late Thursday night and led to the deaths of the elder Vasquez at the scene and the two boys after being rushed to the hospital. To aid the family in facing this tragedy, a GoFundMe has been set up, offering a means for the community to offer support.

The aftermath of the accident saw another collision involving two semi-trucks just west of the initial crash site, as well as a pedestrian fatality on I-10 near Ray Road in Tempe. Eastbound lanes of I-10 near Buckeye were closed for hours due to these incidents, further stressing the dangers present on the roadways.

Amidst his grief, Saldana feels compelled to urge other drivers to remember the importance of using seat belts. "I think we should all already know that seat belts are there for a reason," Saldana told FOX 10 Phoenix. He questioned whether seat belts could have saved his sons but emphasized their use as a vital safety measure. As the community reels from yet another reminder of the frailty of life on the interstate, Saldana's words serve as a somber plea for caution and vigilance behind the wheel.
