A tragic incident unfolded in Tower Grove East where a collision resulted in one fatality and left another individual injured yesterday, at the intersection of Gravois & South Compton Avenues. The accident, which involved a young pedestrian and two vehicles, is currently being investigated by the SLMPD's Accident Reconstruction team, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
According to the preliminary findings, which included footage from Real Time Crime Center cameras, the incident occurred around 9:50 p.m. A 19-year-old man was running southbound across Gravois at the moment when a Yamaha motorcycle, traveling westbound on Gravois and with the green light, was simultaneously in motion. They collided in the intersection, leading the motorcycle to veer and subsequently collide with a Dodge Dakota that was stationary in the opposite lane.
The aftermath of the crash was grave, with the motorcycle rider being pronounced dead at the scene. The 19-year-old pedestrian was transported to the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. The driver of the Dodge Dakota was reported to have sustained no injuries during this series of unfortunate events.
