A tragic incident unfolded in Troutdale last night when a driver lost their life after their vehicle collided with a stationary car. This happened in a residential driveway on the 2700 block of Southeast Troutdale Road, as reported by KOIN 6 News. According to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred around 7:40 p.m. The driver, whose identity has not been released pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were individuals inside of the parked car during the time of the collision. Fortunately, they were unharmed, a relief amidst the otherwise grim circumstances. KPTV reported that the officers and the East County Vehicular Crimes Team are conducting an investigation to determine what led to the fatal crash. Southeast Troutdale Road between Southeast Strebin Road and Southeast Division Drive was closed for several hours to accommodate the investigation.
In the immediate aftermath of the accident, the area was cordoned off while authorities worked on the scene. The road was shut down from Southeast Strebin Road to Southeast Division Drive, causing detours and delays in the vicinity.
