The incident led to the closure of all lanes on that segment of the highway, urging motorists to seek alternative routes, according to 9News.
The crash, which took place around 6:25 a.m., was characterized by the violent impact of a car rear-ending the RTD bus that was in service along Route 15L. Denver7 reported that the collision tragically resulted in the death of the car's driver. The Denver7 also noted that there were no passengers on the bus at the time of the accident, and the bus driver did not sustain any reported injuries.
In a separate account, the Denver Post elaborated that it was, in fact, a motorcycle that crashed into the RTD bus, but did not clarify whether the motorcyclist or the bus driver was the fatality in the crash.
