
Tragedy struck in Atlanta when an armed confrontation between police officers and a suspect ended in a fatal shooting at the Four Seasons Hotel yesterday. According to the Atlanta Police Department (APD), officers responded to reports of an armed individual in the hotel’s lobby at approximately 12:48 am.
The encounter quickly escalated when the man, upon seeing the officers, fled towards the hotel's parking garage, ignoring multiple commands to drop his weapon. This led to police discharging their firearms and striking the individual; he was pronounced dead at the scene by Grady EMS. The APD stated that none of its officers were injured during the incident.
The shooting is under investigation, led by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), and the full report is still pending.
