An early morning blaze in a Gwinnett County home on Overlook Path Way SE in Lawrenceville resulted in a daring rescue and three hospitalizations. The fire, which began before dawn yesterday, saw firefighters from Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services pull a trapped individual from an upstairs bedroom, as reported by FOX5 Atlanta. Another person, before the firefighters arrived, had already leaped from a second-story window to escape the inferno.

Having arrived on the scene, Gwinnett County police discovered the residence engulfed with flames emanating from the garage area. A statement obtained by AccessWDUN detailed the response: "Firefighters deployed a hose line and a 24-foot extension ladder to a second-story window on the front of the house for rescue. Firefighters made entry through the window and searched the room." During their search, they located a victim and extracted them through the window to medical staff waiting below.

The incident has left five people without a home, now under the aid of the American Red Cross. Meanwhile, the three individuals rescued were transported to local hospitals, with one reported in critical condition and the others with non-critical injuries. After the fire was first reported at 3:45 a.m., it took firefighters less than half an hour to bring it under control by 4:12 a.m.

As the charred remnants of the Gwinnett home lay with its story yet fully untold, investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing. Ensuring that no other victims remained, fire crews conducted thorough searches, as per the news release from Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services reported by AccessWDUN. "Two hose lines were used to combat the flames," the statement reads.
