Residents and visitors of Folsom, gear up for a show of school spirit as Vista del Lago and Folsom high schools prepare to unleash their homecoming parades, promising a display of student creativity and community pride. However, with the festivities comes a heads-up for those who navigate these corridors daily—expect road closures and detours snaking around the celebration times.
The first procession by Vista del Lago High School takes place tomorrow, with a temporary yet significant roadblock on Golf Links Drive, which will be off-limits to vehicles between Empire Oaks Elementary School and Vista del Lago High School from 6 to 7:30 p.m., as noted by the official announcement from the City of Folsom's website.
Not to be left out, Folsom High School will have its moment in the spotlight with its own parade slated for Wednesday, October 15, and while it's a few weeks away yet, those who find their way through Coloma Street, Sutter Street, Reading Street, or Leidesdorff Street would do well to mark their calendars; these roads will be cordoned off from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for the procession of students, alumni, and faculty celebrating their homegrown camaraderie.
