Fountain Hills, AZ - Residents and visitors are advised to prepare for changes in traffic patterns as the Fountain Hills Cross Country Invitational is set to take place this Saturday, September 13. According to a notice from the Town of Fountain Hills, the long-standing athletic event will lead to road closures from early morning to early afternoon.
Travelers should be aware that from 4:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., several roads will be closed. Saguaro Blvd., in both directions from Paul Nordin Pkwy. to Palisades Blvd., will be inaccessible. Closures will also affect Avenue of the Fountains at Saguaro Blvd. (eastbound and westbound) and Parkview Ave. at Saguaro Blvd. With Fountain Park welcoming athletes and spectators, heavy congestion is expected in the surrounding area, as detailed by the Town of Fountain Hills.
Event organizers have recommended that those needing to make their way through town on the day of the invitational consider using alternative routes to circumvent the closures. With Fountain Park being a hub of activity during the event, heavy traffic is anticipated, and event-goers would be wise to plan their travels with these disruptions in mind. "Thank you for your patience!" the Town of Fountain Hills stated.
