Violence tore through the calm of a Memphis neighborhood Sunday night when shots rang out in the 4100 block of Rosewood Circle. In a scene all too familiar, four individuals found themselves ensnared in the brutal reality of gun violence. According to the Memphis Police Department's report, the attack occurred close to 9:50 p.m., a time when many would be unwinding within the sanctuary of their homes.
The victims were inside a residence when the gunfire started, a vehement reminder that walls are not impervious to the chaos of the outside world. The perpetrators, both described as thin Black males—one in a white face mask and a black hoodie ensemble, the other similarly attired but without the mask and sporting black and white tennis shoes, unleashed their assault without entering the home. The police have not provided information regarding a motive, nor have they confirmed any arrests related to the incident.
