The Gilroy Police Department has revived their search efforts for Isabella Chaidez, a fugitive implicated in a 2015 homicide case following a robbery that escalated to violence. According to a social media post by the Gilroy Police Department, Chaidez, who was 17 at the time of the incident, has been at large for a decade after the crime that involved her posing as "Crissy" on social media to attract and subsequently rob victims.
Chaidez and her accomplices, Rodrigo Bejarano and Gilbert Cisneros, allegedly visited a man's home feigning innocence; however, when the victim resisted, the attempted robbery turned fatal. Bejarano and Cisneros are reported to have beaten the man, who later succumbed to his injuries. While her co-conspirators were rapidly apprehended, with Bejarano and Cisneros getting caught in Elk Grove and another suspect, Gabriella Ortiz, already facing charges in San Jose, Chaidez slipped through the net and vanished.
The police have followed up on numerous leads over the past several years, but those endeavours bore no fruit until recent developments spurred a new wave of investigation. The Gilroy Police Department, keen on finally closing this long-standing case, has contacted the public for assistance. They urge anyone with information concerning Chaidez's whereabouts to contact Detective Corporal Larkin directly via email provided in their announcement.
