A 28-year-old man, Adrian Green, was fatally shot by Glendale officers following an incident that occurred early Thursday morning. According to reports from FOX 10 Phoenix, police were responding to a call about a suicidal person at a residence near 91st and Glendale Avenues shortly after 12:30 a.m. on September 18th.
Glendale Police, while en route to the scene, were informed that Green was armed and positioned outside the house. "Upon arrival, officers staged a short distance from the residence," police said. A drone was deployed to gather visuals of the situation as officers began formulating an action plan, during which Green is reported to have fired the firearm multiple times. Subsequently, Arizona's Family states that when Green pointed his gun at the officers, both officers discharged their weapons, resulting in Green's death at the scene.
The officers involved were unharmed during the altercation, which is now under investigation by the Buckeye Police Department as part of the West Valley Incident Response Team. In line with this, Arizona’s Family reported that the incident near Westgate was one of two officer-involved shootings in the Valley overnight and contributes to a total of 29 officer-involved shootings in Maricopa County, and 60 statewide in 2025.
