
A helicopter crash in Walton County is currently under investigation after the aircraft went down late Wednesday morning. The incident occurred near the intersection of Mt. Paran Church Road and Brown Hill Church Road. FOX 5 Atlanta reported that two individuals were on board the Bell 206 helicopter, and early indications suggest they were not seriously injured.
Walton County Sheriff Keith Brooks confirmed the injuries following the crash. As per an interview with the sheriff, most of the helicopter has reportedly burned to ashes at the scene. The sheriff's account was detailed in a report by Atlanta News First.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are both conducing inquiries into the incident. According to the NTSB, the flight was instructional in nature when the helicopter crashed, although the cause of the accident has yet to be determined.
