
A shooting occurred at an Exxon Gas Station on 4138 Kirby Parkway in Memphis yesterday, leaving a juvenile critically injured from a gunshot wound. According to the Memphis Police Department's official news release, officers arrived at the scene at approximately 2:56 a.m. after receiving calls about the incident.
The victim, a minor whose identity has not been disclosed, sustained a gunshot to the left side of his abdomen and was transported to Le Bonheur in critical condition by Memphis Fire Department Unit 33, while the suspects, who were caught on the gas station's surveillance cameras, carried an AR-style firearm, made their escape on foot running northbound on Kirby Parkway.
Details from the surveillance footage, as released by the police, show two Black males entering the gas station before the attack; following a brief verbal altercation with the victim outside the establishment, one of the suspects discharged a round from the rifle, resulting in the victim's injury. Law enforcement is actively pursuing leads and has made a public appeal for information related to the shooting.
