Residents of Kingsport now have a new resource to stay informed about their local government operations. The Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BMA), consisting of Mayor Paul W. Montgomery, Vice Mayor Darrell Duncan, and Aldermen Morris Baker, Betsy Cooper, Colette George, Gary Mayes, and James Phillips, is ensuring transparency by offering a newsletter that details the board's activities and decisions.
Kingsport’s Public Information and Communications Department is inviting residents to easily sign up for the BMA Highlights newsletter. This initiative is meant to bridge the gap between the community and civic operations. According to a recent publication on the city's official website, anyone interested can providу their email address at the bottom of the www.kingsporttn.gov page to start receiving updates post BMA meetings.
Subscribers of the BMA Highlights newsletter will get a breakdown of the monthly agenda, including vote tallies, pictures of major projects in development, and the latest sales tax reports. Furthermore, the newsletter promises to keep residents informed on project updates, copies of presentations made to the BMA, and announcements relevant to upcoming events and city activities.
Alongside serving as an informative resource, the newsletter also functions as a platform for celebrating city achievements. “The BMA Highlights newsletter is a free resource that makes keeping up with your local government easy,” Adrianne Batara, the city’s Public Information and Communications Director, told the City of Kingsport. She highlighted the convenience of having valuable and accurate city information delivered directly to your inbox for easy access.
