Heads up, Lake Havasu City residents and night owls: roadwork is on the way to improve your drives and walks. Beginning Monday, September 15, the city and the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will upgrade the traffic signal at the busy McCulloch Boulevard and Jamaica Boulevard intersection, as reported by Lake Havasu City. The project aims to ease congestion and enhance safety for everyone using the junction.
Construction will take place during off-peak hours, from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., to minimize daytime traffic disruptions. Drivers should be prepared for possible detours, as right turns at the intersection will be restricted while crews build ADA-compliant ramps and install new signal technology. The upgrades are scheduled for completion by December 30, just in time for the new year, according to an announcement from Lake Havasu City's official website.
During the project's run, you're going to want to consider detours or alternative routes if you're out during these later hours. The city is banking on the community's cooperation and understanding as it works to make these critical updates. “Lake Havasu City appreciates the patience and understanding of residents and motorists as these essential upgrades are carried out to improve roadway safety and infrastructure,” states the official news update from the City.
