A collision that occurred early this month in Lake Havasu City has now turned fatal, with the bicyclist involved succumbing to injuries sustained during the crash. Local authorities have confirmed that the incident took place last Friday, approximately at 4:28 p.m., at the crossing of SR95 and Mulberry Avenue, as reported by Lake Havasu City.
The Lake Havasu City Police Department reports that 19-year-old resident Andrew Kroschel was waiting at the crosswalk on his bicycle. In a moment still not fully understood by investigators, Kroschel entered the intersection against the traffic signal. He was subsequently struck by an oncoming 2008 Cadillac CTS, propelled on its course by the green light. The driver has reported to police that their view was obstructed by vehicles in the turning lane, which may have prevented them from seeing the cyclist in time to avoid the collision, as detailed by Lake Havasu City.
Following the crash, emergency services transported Kroschel to Havasu Regional Medical Center, but despite medical efforts, he passed away from his injuries. The Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Collision Team took over the investigation, which remains ongoing. They urge anyone who might have more information to reach out, providing a direct line to the Traffic Unit at 928-855-1171, Lake Havasu City noted.
