The Kenner Laketown Amphitheater, a new state-of-the-art public venue, is in the works, set to grace the shores of Lake Pontchartrain. The Jefferson Parish Council, Mayor Michael Glaser, and the Laketown Area Development Corporation (KLADC) have been on the lookout for an operating partner through a national Request for Proposals (RFP), and they've decided on a candidate. Live Nation, a giant in the business of entertainment and venue management, was chosen on Tuesday, and the parties are moving into negotiations, as reported by the Jefferson Parish official website.

According to Jefferson Parish, Councilwoman Arita M. L. Bohannan, "Kenner's Laketown Amphitheater is poised to become the lone regional stop on the national touring concert calendar as a result of this facility. Myself, along with Kenner's Mayor Michael Glaser, are excited to lead this effort to enter negotiations with Live Nation in the hopes of formalizing our working relationship at the Amphitheater, and bring a new era of economic development to our City!" The arrangement is seen as a significant step towards boosting the city's economic landscape. The venue promises to host a plethora of events, including live music, other theatrical performances, and civic gatherings.

Live Nation comes to the negotiation table with a global reputation for handling venue operations, ticketing, and artist relations. They partner with a range of stakeholders including government agencies, local owners, and sponsors to deliver events that not only entertain but also drive economic activity. Their involvement is expected to bring operational finesse and high-quality production to the Kenner Amphitheater, assuring a diverse and engaging program lineup.

The planned Laketown Amphitheater will not only boast a sprawling stage for concerts and performances, but also an artist building, dressing rooms, bathrooms, showers, offices, a kitchen, and dining area. Outside of the immediate venue, the Amphitheater grounds will afford attendees a scenic meadow for seating and a variety of recreational activities within the park area. Behind the scenes, facilities will be state-of-the-art, offering artist bus parking, loading ramps, and ample storage to support sizable events.

The KLADC, a non-profit public benefit corporation, is helmed by a volunteer board comprising elected officials from Jefferson Parish and Kenner, legal and financial community members, and representation from the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce. This body was instrumental in launching the Laketown Improvement District and is actively involved in steering the development and beautification of Williams Boulevard's northern corridor. The selection of Live Nation is the latest in KLADC’s ongoing efforts to elevate Kenner as a cultural and recreational hub in Louisiana.
