
Louisiana State Police Troop C will partner with local law enforcement agencies to conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Lafourche Parish today from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. The exact location has not been disclosed. The checkpoint aims to identify and remove impaired drivers from the road.
According to the Louisiana State Police announcement, alcohol, drugs, and other substances can impair a driver’s perception and coordination. Motorists are encouraged to use a sober designated driver, taxi, or rideshare service if consuming intoxicants.
The initiative is funded and supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission. Motorists are urged to report hazardous driving by calling *LSP (*577) or 911.
