
A shooting in Wood Village has left one man critically injured and prompted an investigation by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and the East County Major Crimes Team. The incident, which reportedly occurred during a robbery, took place on Monday night on the 23700 block of Northeast Halsey Street.
At approximately 10:15 p.m., MCSO deputies rushed to quickly respond following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found a victim with a gunshot wound. The man was swiftly transported to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition. A suspect has been detained in connection with the shooting, and a reverse 911 call was issued to alert residents of the situation, instructing them to stay indoors.
The MCSO has bolstered its search for any other individuals involved using drones and a K9 unit. They have also closed off a section of Northeast Halsey Street to facilitate a thorough investigation. This closure is affecting the stretch between Northeast 230th Court and Northeast 238th Drive.
Evidence from the scene has been collected and is in the process of being examined as part of the ongoing investigation. The MCSO states that additional details will be shared once they have been confirmed.
