
A man is in critical condition following an early morning blaze in a Woodlawn apartment yesterday. According to FOX Baltimore, the Baltimore County fire department responded to a distress call at approximately 1:05 a.m. in the 3400 block of Aurora Lane. On arrival, they discovered smoke billowing from the entrance of an apartment unit.
Firefighters located a man near the apartment's entrance amidst an urgent search through the smoke-filled building. He was pulled to safety and immediately provided emergency medical attention at the scene. The victim was later transported to a local hospital with injuries initially described as life-threatening. A second resident was assessed by EMS at the scene but was found not to require further medical attention. This secondary assessment was also noted in an article by WMAR-2 News.
The incident led to the dislocation of two residents, as per the accounts from fire officials. Investigators from the Baltimore County Police Department have since ascertained the fire's cause, pointing to unattended cooking as the accidental source.
