A man was shot and later died from his injuries in Chicago's Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood, according to local authorities. The incident occurred in a residence located on the 6800 block of South Anthony Avenue, with the Chicago police reporting that the shooting took place around 3:20 p.m. on Monday. The Sun-Times provided details that the victim, whose identity was not immediately disclosed, was inside the home when struck by gunfire.
The wounded man attempted to quickly make his own way to a hospital, but collapsed in the 6300 block of South Wentworth Avenue. First responders transported him from there to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was initially reported in critical condition and later pronounced dead. As of now, no one has been taken into custody, and CPD Area One detectives have begun to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

There seemed to be some confusion regarding how the victim, after being shot, sought help or was discovered.
Police have yet to clarify the motivation behind the shooting and continue to plead for public assistance.
