The Fort Lauderdale police are investigating the shooting. According to details obtained by WSVN, a silver Honda was involved in the incident, having crashed into a wall. There is currently no clarity on whether the shooting took place at the location of the crash or if the man, while wounded, was attempting to reach the hospital before losing control of the vehicle.

Investigators were also seen photographing another location further south on A1A. In a statement obtained by Local 10 News, a resident remarked on the disturbance saying, “Someone told me there was a shooting this morning. The sidewalk is closed off (and) there’s police action all over the place.” During the investigation, sections of the roadway and sidewalk were blocked off. Aerial footage from 7Drone Force showed police at the scene conducting their search for evidence, but it's unclear if a suspect has been apprehended.
