In the early hours of the morning, Buckeye police were called to the scene of a shooting that occurred near Maricopa Rd. and Sunset Point Blvd. The Buckeye Police Department has reported that one man was left injured following the violent incident involving gunfire. As reported by Buckeye, AZ, the victim was sitting in his SUV alongside a woman he had met online when an assailant shot at the vehicle.
The encounter turned sour just after 1 a.m. when, according to the victim's account, shots rang out unexpectedly. The woman accompanying him exited the SUV, and, wounded, the man drove away to seek safety and call for emergency services, as per Buckeye, AZ. After the shooting, police quickly arrived at the scene and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was subsequently transported to a hospital, with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Investigators promptly located the woman at a residence not far from the crime scene. She was found living there with a man in his 20s, who police took into custody following an interview, Buckeye, AZ stated.
