A manhunt is currently underway in Franklin County following an incident last Saturday that left one man seriously injured and the armed suspect, Clinton Patrick Miller, on the run. As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, authorities began the pursuit after Miller led deputies on a chase to the county's northern region. Miller, who has a history of criminal activity, is now facing multiple charges including aggravated assault and illegal firearm possession.
The seriousness of the confrontation was underscored when the victim of the altercation in Canon had to be airlifted to the hospital following Miller's escape – during which he crashed a stolen vehicle through a fence, into a tree, and subsequently ran into dense woodland near Highway 320 and McFarlin Bridge Road. Franklin County Sheriff Scott Andrews described Miller as "armed and dangerous" and advised the public against approaching him, as detailed by Now Habersham. The Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help and urges anyone with information on Miller's whereabouts to contact 911 immediately.
Multiple law enforcement agencies are working collaboratively to track down Miller, who was last seen fleeing the crash scene into the woods. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has disseminated a photo of the suspect, a white male who was reportedly wearing a black sweatshirt at the time of the incident, they are diligently broadening their search to ensure public safety and apprehend the fugitive as swiftly as possible.
