Locals have the chance to weigh in on the imagery that will represent their city's character and beauty in the upcoming year. According to a social media post by the City of Mankato, Minnesota Government, residents can select their 3–5 favorite photographs in each category of the contest.
With a selection process that empowers the community, the contest's first round of voting is a chance for citizens to have a direct say in the cultural output of their city. Voting commenced recently and is slated to remain open through Friday, September 12.
