The mystery surrounding the tragic death of 41-year-old Benjamin "Ben" Anderson has reached a new chapter as officials have reportedly taken a significant step forward. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) has submitted charges against two men, Jaden M. Kaufman and Richard D. Kaufman, to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office (MCAO) in connection with the case that first shook the community back on New Year's Eve in 2021, in a statement obtained by FOX10 Phoenix.
While specific details regarding the nature of the charges have yet to be disclosed to the public, the MCAO has confirmed that they are now actively reviewing the submitted charges, as reported by FOX10 Phoenix. Neither MCAO nor MCSO disclosed the charges submitted against the two.
Ben Anderson's body was discovered in tragic and alarming conditions — set on fire in the middle of the desert near New River off Table Mesa Road. Before this gruesome discovery, his friends had located his car, burnt, adjacent to a hotel parking garage at the I-17 and Dunlap Road, after it was noticed that three individuals were inside the vehicle, as per ABC15.
MCSO has engaged in an extended and comprehensive inquiry that involved sifting through digital data and records, while also securing "numerous hours of video footage from many different establishments/businesses that are deemed as evidence," as stated by ABC15.
