Changes are underway for drivers in Maryville as the city government announced updates to local roadways, impacting the daily commute for many residents. In a recent post on their official Facebook page, officials shared that Raulston Road, which has been under construction, is set to reopen to traffic this morning, somewhere between 10 and 11 a.m. The reopening marks a return to the traffic patterns of Phase I for the area.
Concurrently, commuters will have to adjust once more as Cochran Road, specifically the section behind the market, will be closed down. This change is necessary to accommodate the construction work aimed at widening the road. According to the Maryville City Government Facebook post, the adjustments are expected to last approximately 4 to 5 weeks. To fully communicate these traffic modifications, the city informed that signs, barricades, and message boards will be updated to direct the flow of vehicles accordingly.
Another notable shift in the traffic scheme is set for mid-October when Phase III is projected to start. At that point, the intersection of Cochran Road and Raulston Road will be transformed into an All-Way STOP. The Maryville City Government Facebook page communication highlighted that this temporary measure will "better accommodate the detoured traffic from Carpenters Grade Road eastbound" and is set to be lifted once the final stage of Phase III reaches completion, which is hoped to be within the next 6 to 8 months.
