The trial of Brandon Isabelle is set to begin with jury selection on Monday. Isabelle faces charges in the deaths of his girlfriend, 27-year-old Danielle Hoyle, and their two-day-old daughter Kennedy. FOX13 Memphis reported that Isabelle is accused of murdering Hoyle and discarding their newborn in the Mississippi River.
According to Action News 5, on February 1, 2022, Isabelle allegedly lured Hoyle to an address in Whitehaven. Police later found her vehicle with a shattered window at East Levi Road and Sedgwick Street, and her body was discovered nearby. Kennedy’s body was never recovered.
Isabelle faces charges including two counts of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and neglect, and aggravated kidnapping. In September 2022, he pleaded not guilty. WREG reported that his defense argued police interrogation tactics were unconstitutional, but the judge allowed the confession to be used in court.
Jury selection will begin Monday, with opening statements expected Tuesday.
